Applied Research & Evaluation
Parsons Consulting provides a range of applied research methodologies to meet clients’ needs. These include needs assessment, program evaluation, regional analysis, and geographic information systems (GIS).
We are experienced quantitative and qualitative researchers, using primary data collection methods (such as, community surveys, focus groups, and stakeholder interviews) and secondary data analysis methods (such as, trend and comparative analyses, multivariate composite indices, and other approaches).
Community Indicators & Performance Measurement
Parsons Consulting and colleagues are certified in Results Based Accountability, a performance management system that is both simple and powerful, providing busy nonprofit and public sector administrators with the tools they need to assess progress. We help organizations identify organizational success metrics to understand internal implementation and population-level community indicators to measure community impact. Parsons Consulting is a member of the Community Indicators Consortium (CIC) and has presented on the power of community indicators to drive strategy at the CIC and American Planning Association conferences.
Organizational Assessment & Change Management
Parsons Consulting and associates are certified and experienced Prosci Change Management Professionals, offering clients a full range of change management services. We emphasize frequent, clear, and concise communication from project sponsors and trusted messengers, providing leaders with the information they need to guide their teams through change. Tools we employ include the development of change management guides for leaders, “meeting in a box”* resources to facilitate manager communication, and periodic employee surveys to assess readiness for change.

Planning & Facilitation
Parsons Consulting and associates are Institute of Cultural Affairs ToP-trained facilitators with extensive experience facilitating large and small groups on a diverse range of topics and for a variety of purposes. ToP (Technology of Participation) is a unique facilitation method that incorporates the input of all participants, identifies agreement as well as divergence, and creates critical buy-in.
Using ToP and other successful strategic planning methods, including Michael Wilkinson’s Drivers Model, we deftly guide agencies and communities through thoughtful strategy development, including mission, vision, goals, strategies, objectives, and implementation. We excel at creating plans with our clients that are both inspiring and actionable.
Project Management
Kari Parsons is a certified Project Management Professional. We have both the training and experience to bring projects to successful completion, including organizational change management campaigns, community indicators initiatives, and research efforts in a range of domains.
